Sri Laxmi Janardhan Temple - Kaup 18th Feb 2020 Annual car festival. ಮಹತೋಭಾರ ಶ್ರೀ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀಜನಾರ್ದನ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನ ಕಾಪು. ಕಾಪು ಸಾವಿರ ಸೀಮೆಯ ಒಡೆಯ ಎಂದೇ ಪ್ರಖ್ಯಾತವಾಗಿರುವ ದೇವರು ಶ್ರೀ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀಜನಾರ್ದನ ದೇವರು. ಕಾಪು ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ನೂರಾರು ವರುಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಾಪಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟು ಪೂಜಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವ ದೇವರು ಶ್ರೀ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀಜನಾರ್ದನ ದೇವರು . ಈ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕೆ 800 ವರುಷಗಳಷ್ಟು ಹಳೆಯ ಇತಿಹಾಸವಿದ್ದು ಇಲ್ಲಿಯ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧ ಹಳೆಯ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನಗಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಾಗಿದೆ. ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀ ಸಮೇತನಾಗಿರುವ ಜನಾರ್ದನ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಯು ಭಕ್ತಜನರ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಗೆ ಬಹುಶಿಘ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಉತ್ತರಿಸುವವನಾಗಿರುವುದು ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ದಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿಯ ಮೂಲ ವಿಗ್ರಹವು ಭಾರ್ಗವ ಋಷಿಯಿಂದ ಪೂಜಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟದ್ದಾಗಿ ಇಲ್ಲಿಯ ಸ್ಥಳಪುರಾಣಗಳು ಹೇಳುತ್ತವೆ. ವರ್ಷಾವಧಿ ಜಾತ್ರೆಯು ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ರಾಶಿ ಪೂಜೆಯು ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 24 ನೆಯ ತಾರೀಕಿನಂದು ಬಹುವಿಜ್ರಭಣೆಯಿಂದ ನೆರವೇರುತ್ತದೆ. ಕಾಪು ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರವು ಉಡುಪಿಯಿಂದ 12 K M ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು ಉಡುಪಿ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಹೈ ವೇಯಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾದಸ್ವರ ಊದುವವರು ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಜನಾಂಗಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿದವರಾಗಿದ್ದು , ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಂತೆ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತದವರು ನಾಲ್ಕನೆಯ ತಲೆಮಾರಿನವರು. ಈಗಿನವರ ತಂದೆ, ಅಜ್ಜ ಮುತ್ತಜ್ಜ ನಾದಸ್ವರ ಊದುವುದನ್ನು ನಾನು ಕಂಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ Kamalaatanaya ( Kaup Laxmikantha Tantry ) The idol worshipped in this temple is Lord Mahavishnu also known as Lord Janardhana. Temple has a history of over 800 years and is considered to be one among the oldest temples. This historical temple is believed to have been existed since the thirteenth century. Along with the temple dedicated to Shri Janardhana, the presence of Lakshmi in the temple complex has been one of the significant features of this sacred place. It has been believed that the deity of this temple, Shri Janardhana Swami who is prompt in answering the prayers of the devotees was installed thousands of years earlier by Bhargava Rushi. It is one of the ancient temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu. On the day of the car festival, the main Deity Lord Janardhana is carried by the priest upon his head and then taken to the decorated car. Later in the late night the car will be pulled by all devotees and at the end there will be a fire work presentation to the Lord. Annual Raasi pooja will be held on 25th of April. every year.
